Y-12 URANIUM PROCESSING FACILITY

Y-12 URANIUM PROCESSING FACILITY (upf)

YEAR: 2018
LOCATION:
Oak Ridge, TN
SIZE:
150,000 SF

PROJECT SUMMARY:
The UPF (Uranium Processing Facility) Fabrication Facility and Warehouse project was composed of three temporary structures located on the site of the demolished K-31 Building at the K-25 campus. The first was a 100,000 sf Fabrication Facility, the second was a 50,000 sf Warehouse Facility (partially conditioned). These two structures were pre-engineered, fabric-over-steel construction. They were intended to have a ten-year life and to serve as a staging area, warehouse and fabrication facility for the Uranium Processing Facility on the Y-12 site. The third structure was a custom-built trailer that sat between the two larger structures. The trailer housed ADA accessible bathrooms, both male and female. The construction cost was $10M.
